Parking on my street is a mess. What can be done?
The parking situation in Redhouse stems from the difference between anticipated car use in the original plans and the real situation on the streets now the estate is nearly built. Whilst it is important to encourage car owners to use their allocated parking spaces, it is acknowledged that this is not always possible. The RRA has produced a document highlighting the difficulties in the area and this has formed the basis of an ongoing dialogue with Swindon Borough Council to try to improve matters. The steps that can be taken are small and in a lot of cases rely on goodwill and sensible car parking arrangements by residents. The council ave listened to our difficulties and are using this information to feed into future planning applications.
